To prevent compatibility issues, uninstall any existing version of Microsoft Office from your computer and restart it. This step is essential. You won't lose any of your files during this process—you're simply removing the previous program. Once Visio 2024 is installed and activated, you can reinstall your other Microsoft Office applications.

 

Step 1: Uninstall Existing Microsoft Office (Required)

Before installing Microsoft Visio 2024, remove any previous versions to avoid conflicts.

1. Open the “Control Panel”.
2. Select “Programs and Features”.
3. Find Microsoft Office in the list, right-click, and select “Uninstall”.
4. Follow the uninstallation wizard instructions.

Note: The process may take several minutes, depending on your computer’s configuration.

Important: Restart your computer after uninstalling. 

Step 2: Install Microsoft Visio 2024

After downloading the Project installer:

1. Go to your Downloads folder

2. Locate the installer file (Project_2024_EN_64Bits.exe)

3. Right-click and select Run as administrator

4. Follow the on-screen instructions

 

 

5. Click the "Install" button. This will unzip the application and begin installing your product.

 

 

 

After the download and installation are complete, launch any application from the Microsoft Office suite. You will be prompted to enter the activation key as the first step.

 

Alternative Activation

1. Open Microsoft Project

2. Go to File -> Account

3. Click Activate Product

4. Select Enter Product Key

5. Enter your product key

6. Choose Phone Activation

7. Take note of the Installation ID

 

Complete Activation via Microsoft Portal

1. Visit: https://visualsupport.microsoft.com/

2. Click Let’s Get Started

3. Sign in with your Microsoft Account

4. Select Activate a Microsoft Product

5. Choose Microsoft Office

6. Select "I don't know"

7. Choose "7-digits"

8. Enter the Installation ID (retrieved from the Project app)

9. Provide the number of devices installed (this could be 0)

10. Obtain the Confirmation ID

11. Enter the Confirmation ID in the product activation window in your Project app

 

Your Microsoft Project 2024 should now be installed and activated.
